About the PA Interagency Council to Prevent and End Homelessness

The lack of coordination across critical state and local agencies remains one of the most significant barriers to ending homelessness in the state.

To address this, CSH and RHLS call on the Shapiro Administration to establish a Pennsylvania Interagency Council to Prevent and End Homelessness. Our goal for this Council is to enhance collaboration among agencies for executing a statewide plan to end homelessness.

Why an Interagency Council Matters

The recent Annual Homelessness Assessment Report estimates that more than 12,500 individuals are experiencing homelessness in Pennsylvania. But homelessness is solvable with greater coordination of state resources and agencies.

With better resource coordination and funding through an Interagency Council, alongside an aligned statewide plan to address housing needs, Pennsylvania could be the first state to, in effect, end homelessness.
