True Colors Provides Safe Haven for LGBT Youth

The first ever supportive housing residence for homeless LGBT youth in New York recently celebrated its opening with a little help from the project’s co-founder, Cyndi Lauper. CSH is proud to have been a lender in such a ground-breaking project, providing a safe haven for a population of youth who are often left on the fringe of society. The new 30 unit residence with provide permanent supportive housing for LGBT homeless youth which comprise 15 to 40% of the city’s total homeless youth population according to a June 2010 report by the city’s Commission for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning Runaway and Homeless Youth.
