
CSH is a National Training and Technical Assistance Partner (NTTAP) funded by the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) through the Bureau of Primary Healthcare (BPHC). We provide technical assistance to federally qualified health centers and other organizations working in tandem with health and housing, particularly those that serve individuals facing housing instability, homelessness, or residing in public housing. As part of our training and technical assistance work, we also produce several national resources like learning collaborative, national webinars, publications, tools, resources, and direct technical assistance. Health & Housing Partnerships for Older Adults: Aging in Place in Supportive Housing
Nationwide, the rate of homeless individuals over the age of 50 is growing. Not only are those on the streets getting older, but their health is deteriorating at rates much faster than the general population. Pressing chronic health and geriatric conditions exacerbate the housing crisis for thousands of unsheltered individuals over 50.1 Supportive housing, a proven intervention for meeting the unique and complex needs of formerly homeless individuals, is also experiencing a “graying” consumer population that calls for changes to the way that quality supportive housing is provided.
