Ground Breaking in Indianapolis

Lincoln Apartments will serve 75 of Indianapolis’ formerly homeless Veterans in supportive housing on the near West side.  Volunteers of America will coordinate continuing care once the apartment complex is open and serving our Veterans. Lincoln Apartments will feature a computer lab, multi-purpose room, fitness room and on-site social service delivery.

The ground-breaking ceremony for Lincoln Apartments was held on November 8th, and speakers included Mayor Greg Ballard and Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman.

Lincoln Apartments is being delivered by the following development partners who attended the 2011 Indiana Permanent Supportive Housing Institute: Building Blocks Non-Profit Housing Corporation, Volunteers of America Indiana, Keystone Construction, Milner and Caringella, Roudebush VA Medical Center and Axis Architecture + Interiors.

Financing partners include: City of Indianapolis, Corporation for Supportive Housing, Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, National Bank of Indianapolis, Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA), and Great Lakes Capital Fund.
