Governor Lincoln Chafee extends the MOA that continues an unprecedented collaboration that brings together government, philanthropy (Rhode Island Foundation, the United Way of Rhode Island and RI Housing) and the non-profit sector to end homelessness in Rhode Island. The MOA, one of the first in the country, brings expert non-profit staffing from the Corporation for Supportive Housing,  to the Council.

At the July 19, 2012 at the Interagency Council on Homelessness’ quarterly meeting the Council was provided with the Year in Review and Plans for Implementation of Opening Doors Rhode Island, the State’s Plan to End Homelessness.   Director Craig Stenning from the  Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals was named the Chair of the Opening Doors Rhode Island Implementation Work Group.
