Issue Brief: Optimizing Resources for Successful Youth Transitions from Foster Care

This brief outlines how jurisdictions can better align, sequence, and layer federal, state, and local resources to support young people transitioning from foster care into emerging adulthood. It identifies gaps and challenges created by time-limited and uncoordinated programs and proposes a cross-sector alignment model for extending housing, education, employment, economic security, health, and well-being supports from ages 18 to 26.
