Help Supportive Housing Residents Transition to Independent Living
CSH and the NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD) are excited to relaunch and enhance the Moving On program, connecting eligible supportive housing residents with affordable, independent housing opportunities while creating space for new households currently in shelter.
We’re seeking supportive housing providers to partner with us in identifying tenants ready to move on and helping them access vouchers and housing navigation support. Participating providers will receive capacity building grants to support their Moving On work over a two-year period.
About the Program
The Moving On initiative is designed to:
- Support residents in supportive housing who are ready for more independent living
- Connect tenants with housing vouchers and rental opportunities
- Provide housing navigation and aftercare support, with Anthos|Home assisting select participants
- Create new openings in supportive housing for individuals and families exiting shelter
This is a unique opportunity to expand housing access across the system while supporting tenant choice and stability.
Who Should Participate?
We are looking to partner with:
- Supportive housing providers across New York City
- Agencies with tenants who may be ready to transition to independent housing
- Organizations interested in expanding pathways for tenant choice and mobility
