Description:
CSH seeks a consultant to assist with institutional fundraising efforts and the stewardship of CSH’s supporters. This position will be active through at least November 30, 2025, with the potential for an extension depending on need and availability. The consultant will support a portfolio of program teams with the development and submission of proposals and funder reports. The consultant may also be assigned proposals and reports for teams outside of their portfolio on an as-needed basis.
Planned activities:
- Receive assignments from Fund Development team members to develop: concept papers/Letters of Inquiry (LOIs), proposals, and progress reports.
- Create and maintain a schedule of internal and external deadlines to ensure:
- Sufficient time for program staff and leadership to review materials; and
- The on-time submission of all proposals and reports.
- Draft and submit assigned concept papers/LOIs, proposals, program budgets, and progress reports. While the consultant’s primary points-of-contact will be Fund Development team staff, they will be expected to liaise with program staff to gather needed information for assigned projects.
Expected Outcomes, Milestones, and Deliverables:
Deliverable 1: Complete submission of ~18- funding proposals (3-4 per month) to a range of government, corporate, and foundation sources.
Deliverable 2: Track progress report deadlines for funders in assigned portfolio and collaborate with Fund Development and program staff to complete and submit reports.
Deliverable 3: Work effectively with Fund Development team to ensure a seamless process for the assignment and completion of projects. This will include meeting with assigned manager for ~½ hour weekly on project management.
Funding Available:
An amount not to exceed $75,000 is available for this project.

CSH is specifically looking for someone with strong project management skills who understands how to work with multiple sources of funding, can effectively manage the workload outlined above, has strong attention to detail and excellent writing skills, and is able to manage project deliverables within a specific timeframe and budget. Knowledge of CSH and experience in the field of affordable/supportive housing or poverty alleviation is a plus.

Please note that CSH requires all consultants, including individuals and sole proprietors, to carry commercial general liability insurance and workers’ compensation insurance while performing work as a CSH consultant. Commercial general liability insurance may be waived on a case-by-case basis for individuals/sole practitioners. Consultants who do not carry workers’ compensation will incur a penalty equal to 0.7% of each disbursement to offset the increase to the premium CSH is assessed for uninsured contractors. CSH consultants cannot have existing, pending or expired debarments that preclude them from doing business with the United States government and cannot have convictions for, nor have any pending indictments for, fraud or a criminal offense in connection with a public contract or subcontract.
