Central Referral System

The Central Referral System (CRS)  is Chicago's tool for coordinated access for Permanent Supportive Housing  and Permanent Housing with Short-Term Supports housing resources.  Please follow this link to complete an application:  www.chicagocrs.org.   Providers receiving funding from the Chicago Continuum of Care are required to use the CRS.

Catholic Charities is the Managing Entity of the CRS. CSH served as the interim-Managing Entity of the CRS from 2012-2013 and currently staffs the CRS Managing Entity Advisory Board and provides training for new users of the system.

Training Sessions

All housing providers utilizing the CRS to fill vacancies are invited to attend a training session. Please click here to register.

The training provides an overview of the CRS, discusses agency roles and responsibilities, and reviews the Policy and Procedures and Memorandum of Understanding.

For 60 minutes following the CRS training, we request that single-site providers remain for our supplemental training "Single-Site PSH – Preparing for CRS Implementation".   The supplemental training includes information on updating project Tenant Selection Plans, guidance from IHDA, a draft letter template for project investors and funders and discuss option for your existing waiting list.  We will have ample time available to discuss project specifics, so please come with your questions.
