New York, NY | March 5, 2026 Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) is grateful for the support of Senator John Hoeven (R-N.D.) for legislation that directs the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to renew Continuum of Care (CoC) grants supporting homelessness service providers in his state.

Sen. Hoeven championed legislation passed recently by Congress and signed by President Trump into law that mandates HUD to renew Continuum of Care (CoC) homelessness program grants for one year, beginning with grants expiring in the first quarter of fiscal 2026.

“Senator Hoeven’s leadership in renewing Continuum of Care grants reflects a practical, bipartisan commitment to making communities safer and more stable,” said Deborah De Santis, president and CEO of CSH. “By continuing to support results‑driven investments in affordable housing and supportive services, he can help ensure communities across the country have the reliable resources they need to improve safety, strengthen families, and expand proven pathways out of homelessness.”

North Dakota received $3.3 million in CoC funding last year that was leveraged by providers to make more than 1,600 beds available for individuals and families facing homelessness. The funding supports providers including the YWCA in Fargo, Fraser Ltd., the Abused Adult Resource Center in Bismarck, the Grand Forks Housing Authority, and the Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Center in Dickinson.

Grants expiring in the first quarter must be renewed by March 31, with subsequent renewals scheduled on a rolling basis, according to the legislation.

CSH supports sustained federal investment in proven housing and services that help communities reduce homelessness and strengthen local systems of care.
