Taking on a new role in ending homelessness means accessing new revenue sources and enhancing your positive visibility.

Some of the greatest contributions Public Housing Agencies (PHAs) can make toward ending homelessness and creating supportive housing are realized when their involvement goes beyond individual policy and procedure changes and into large scale community initiatives. A number of PHAs around the country are moving beyond their traditional roles and expanding their activities and missions to include new lines of business. PHAs find that taking on new roles in ending homelessness can provide access to new revenue sources and enhance their positive visibility. Following are some examples of innovative approaches PHAs have taken to create supportive housing and address homelessness in their communities.

Housing Development
Sponsor-based Subsidies
