Quality Supportive Housing

We help the affordable housing and services fields create and operate high-quality, effective supportive housing. Through our resources and technical assistance, we partner with housing providers to develop housing that aligns with our Quality Supportive Housing Standards.

This resource identifies aspects of quality supportive housing. The guide helps you understand the CSH Quality Supportive Housing Standards when planning and operating supportive housing.

Our Supportive Housing Quality Toolkit has templates and tools you need to ensure quality practices in developing and operating new supportive housing.

Quality Supportive Housing Readiness Survey

The CSH Quality Supportive Housing Readiness Checklist helps ensure that a supportive housing project meets quality standards. The checklist may be included in financing documents to ensure that funded projects will maintain high-quality standards that meet tenant and community goals. This free tool is available to complete online or printable as a downloadable PDF.

This tool is for: Projects in pre-development planning and design, usable for various funding phases (pre-development, capital, operating, and services).

CSH Pre-Development Quality Endorsement

The CSH Quality Endorsement is for housing providers planning new projects and includes a review of planning documents to ensure that a new supportive housing project meets CSH Quality Standards. Projects receive the CSH Quality Endorsement if they provide supporting documentation and planning goals that meet the quality standards. Projects receive a letter of endorsement and a CSH Quality logo that can be used in their funding applications. This service is FREE for organizations participating in a CSH Supportive Housing Institute, but requires a fee for other organizations. For more information on this process, including pricing, please contact quality@csh.org

This tool is for: Programs/developments in pre-development or the planning phase.

Quality in Housing Self-Evaluation

This online self-evaluation was created for supportive housing providers (both scattered-site and site-based projects) to evaluate their performance, partnerships, and agency practices according to the industry standards of Quality Supportive Housing.

After completing the self-evaluation, your organization will receive a summary of your score in each of the Quality Supportive Housing Standards. You will also receive a corresponding resource list of available training and technical assistance to support your organization in development where your scores indicate room for improvement.

Note: If you are assessing the quality of BOTH scattered-site programs and site-based supportive housing projects, you will need to complete separate assessments based on the type of supportive housing offered. Click here to take the self-evaluation.
