Counties in Michigan Effectively End Homelessness Among Veterans

CSH, which has staff on the ground in the state and an office in Detroit, was excited this past week when the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) confirmed that Wexford, Missaukee, and Manistee Counties in Michigan have effectively ended homelessness among Veterans.

In their official announcement, the three federal agencies indicate they are confident the infrastructure and systems are now in place to ensure that any Veteran experiencing homelessness in this three-county region in Michigan will get the support they need to quickly obtain a permanent home like the ones found in supportive housing.
