Subcontracting Opportunity: Family Supportive Housing Clinical Capacity Building

Description:
Consultant will work with three supportive housing projects to: 1) build staff and supervisory capacity to engage families in existing services; and 2) provide clinical consultation to staff on issues related to domestic violence, substance abuse, and parenting. In addition, the consultant will help CSH build the capacity of the field by participating in Learning Community calls with other supportive housing sites and develop materials to help supportive housing case managers work with families on these topics in the future.

Planned activities:

PHASE 1

  1. The Consultant will develop and deliver a coaching/professional development delivery structure to achieve aforementioned goals. The structure will include but not be limited to, one-on-one and/or group phone calls, web-based coaching and in-person visits (should funding allow)
  2. The Consultant will participate in national Learning Community as appropriate
  3. The consultant will develop /adapt existing training and be available to train/conduct a workshop in-person for multiple sites.

 

PHASE 2

  1. The Consultant will create/adapt tools that provide case managers with concrete steps he/she can take during home visits to enhance family functioning and build parental capacity through coaching and skill building. Tools will address families struggling with substance use, domestic violence, parenting.

 


Expected Outcomes, Milestones, and Deliverables:

PHASE 1

Deliverable 1: Assess and develop a plan to build capacity in sites and the field

Deliverable 2: Develop/adapt existing training or materials to share with sites on topics identified via Webex or in-person

Deliverable 3: Hold (6-9) 60- 90 minute consultation call is three sites

Deliverable 4: Participate and help shape content in (2) National Learning Community sessions

PHASE 2

Deliverable 5: Hold 6, 60-90 minute consultation calls with three sites

Deliverable 6:  Participate and help shape content in (2) National Learning Community Sessions

Deliverable 7: Create 3 – 4 tools and/or information briefs that will support case managers and supervisors in supportive housing in the three sites and nationally

Funding Available:
An amount not to exceed $19,000 is available for Phase 1 of the project. Additional funding will become available for Phase 2 in June 2017.
