Connecting the Dots: Aging-Homeless-Supportive Housing

More Older Adults Spending "Golden Years" in Homelessness, The Columbus Dispatch. Click here to access full story.

Approximately half of the people experiencing homelessness in the U.S. are 50 years and older and in the next decade this number is projected to increase by 33%. As communities across the country are working to end homelessness, local leaders are recognizing we must actively plan for an aging population that is facing significant health challenges and struggling to access and maintain affordable housing.

On Tuesday, September 27 and Wednesday, September 28, 2016, CSH and National Church Residences co-hosted a convening in Columbus, Ohio to help prepare local providers for this seismic, demographic shift, and focused on supportive housing as the platform to serve this vulnerable older population.

At this convening, CSH released the Healthy Aging Supportive Housing Toolkit.

CSH is grateful to the sponsors of our convening. Their generosity is helping us to elevate the issue of elder homelessness and promote the solution of supportive housing.
