Minnesota Advocacy

602_Testify_14March has been a busy month of advocacy for CSH in Minnesota. On March 3, CSH Minnesota's Director George Stone testified before the Minnesota House regarding the need for $100 million in bonding for affordable housing, including supportive housing, to be used across Minnesota. Mr. Stone's testimony included why supportive housing is both socially and fiscally important to Minnesota, and a moving story of a Minnesota veteran whose life has changed due to his supportive housing unit.

March 6th was Homeless Day on the Hill and the Minnesota CSH Team, George Stone, Josephine Pufpaff and Becky Melang, spent the day meeting with their representatives to discuss state housing needs and attending hearings on the bonding bill for housing. CSH also helped to facilitate a Greater Minnesota supportive housing tenant to come and testify before the Minnesota Senate regarding why supportive housing has been a crucial step in helping her and her family move forward in her life. She is pictured above offering her testimony along with MN Housing Assistant Commissioner- Tonja Orr and Commissioner-Mary Tingerthal.
