Five Communities Awarded Grant for Family Supportive Housing

Today the Administration on Children Youth and Families (ACYF) and four private foundations named the five communities selected to receive grants to create supportive housing designed to give kids a chance to live healthier more productive lives. Announced by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Sebelius, grantees are Kids in Distress (Wilton Manors, FL), Community Alliance for the Homeless (Memphis, TN), Four Oaks Family and Children’s Services (Cedar Rapids, IA), the San Francisco Human Services Agency, and the Connecticut Department of Children and Families. Read the press release or visit ACYF for more information.

CSH is dedicated to finding better ways for supportive housing to offer stability to families with children who are at risk of recurring involvement in the child welfare system. We are proud that our Keeping Families Together initiative, funded by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, is a model for ACYF’s unprecedented investment. We applaud ACYF and their foundation partners, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Casey Family Programs and the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation. We look forward to the great advancements these grantee communities will be able to make over the next few years.
