McKinley Grove Breaks Ground in Painesville, OH

Extended Housing, Inc. broke ground on McKinley Grove, a 17 unit supportive housing community in Painesville, OH. The project will focus on helping residents with severe and persistent mental illnesses become empowered to live independent, healthy lifestyles.

The Extended Housing team graduated from both the CSH Opening New Doors Institutue and the Seven Dimensions of Quality Trainings. CSH has also provided $36,000 in capacity grants, a $25,000 PIL and a $500,000 predevelopment and construction guarantee loan to the project.

CSH has worked with the team, providing direct project assistance and technical assistance through the concept and pre-development stage. CSH staffers, Ted Jones and John Peterson have served as mentors to Karen McLeod, Executive Director at Extended Housing, Inc.

Karen says, “It was CSH's Housing Institute in Columbus that gave us the building blocks for McKinley Grove - and with that came technical assistance. The staff who work with us from CSH are caring brothers who hug you when you cry, who get you focused, give sound advice and who cheer you on. They keep me sane and I am so thankful for them. We would not be here today without CSH.”
