CSH Continues Our History of Advocacy at NAEH Conference

This Wednesday, the National Alliance to End Homelessness will once again organize a Capitol Hill Day in conjunction with the 2012 National Conference on Ending Homelessness.  This is a tremendous opportunity to educate Congressional offices on the good work being done in our communities across the country and to press for continued passage of our policy goals. CSH has a rich history of participating and helping lead state delegations during lobby day, and we are proud to continue this tradition in 2012.

To sign up for Capitol Hill Day, visit NAEH's website at endhomelessness.org/2012hillday. Or drop by CSH's table at the conference and we'll help you get involved!

With election season upon us and persistent budget shortfalls, it would be easy for the issue of homelessness to fall in the pack of other issues that Congress is faced with this year.  That's why it is imperative to meet with members of Congress and their staff in person and make the case for why homelessness is an issue that needs to be addressed on an on-going basis.

This is a particularly important time because, in addition to the election, we are facing the possibilities of drastic cuts at the beginning of 2013 due to a Budget agreement last year that mandates extensive cuts to non-defense discretionary spending.  We need to communicate on the harm such cuts would cause and how it could hamper the progress we have made in ending homelessness throughout the country.

We hope you can make it, and help contribute to ensure our voices are heard at this critical time.
