Ruth Teague Receives Honor for Dedication to Ending Homelessness

CSH’s  Los Angeles Director, Ruth Teague,  was also honored earlier this year by A Community of Friends (ACOF) at their 9th Annual Awards celebration for her dedication to ending homelessness in Los Angeles.

ACOF cited Ruth’s personal commitment to the nonprofit community and her dedication to the creation of safe, decent and affordable housing in presenting the award.  Ruth was at the forefront of the creation of the Los Angeles Supportive Housing Recovery Initiative which began in 2010 in the midst of a financial crisis across the country. She sought out funders and capitalized a $5.2 million fund to provide a mix of grants, low-interest loans and technical assistance to housing developers who heretofore experienced project delays.  This new fund helped to open the logjam of projects with much needed funding.

CSH is proud of Ruth and her many accomplishments as head of the Los Angeles program. And we are equally happy to have collaborated with ACOF on a number of projects, providing much needed housing and services to Los Angeles’ most vulnerable.
