POSTED June 27, 2008:  Citizens Housing Corporation is seeking  a Property Manager!  In Summer/Fall 2008, Citizens Housing Corporation will open up Polk Senior Housing, under the management of CHCPMC.  Polk Senior Housing is a new construction project that will provide 110 units of safe, quality, affordable housing with links to essential supportive services for low-income seniors. POSTED June 10, 2008:  Employment Pathways Specialist:  For nearly 20 years, Building Changes (formerly AIDS Housing of Washington) has successfully overcome prejudice, inequity, and slow-moving bureaucratic systems to develop innovative and effective housing and social service programs for vulnerable and disenfranchised people in our community. Building Changes is a catalyst for ending homelessness. Building Changes is seeking a full-time Employment Pathways Specialist. This position will work closely with consulting and intermediary staff and will be supervised by the Manager of Community Initiatives. This position is grant-funded, and will work with the Manager of Community Initiatives on the Community Employment Pathways (CEPI) Initiative, a new program of the agency. POSTED May 20, 2008:  Community Housing Partnership (CHP) is a San Francisco-based nonprofit organization that develops and operates permanent housing for formerly homeless people with on-site support services, job training and employment opportunities.  CHP is currently seeking a Maintenance Services Supervisor.  The Maintenance Services Supervisor is responsible for managing the operations of the Community Housing Partnership’s (CHP) maintenance services business.  This business is part of CHP Enterprises, a social venture that creates jobs in the property management field for people who have experienced homelessness. POSTED May 20, 2008:  The Bridge, Inc., is looking for several Assistant Residence Managers.  The job description is as follows:
*Provide individual counseling and crisis intervention for a caseload of residents.  Available for 24-hour crisis management.
*Perform administrative functions as necessary, including petty cash, staff attendance, client benefits, distribution of client payments, purchasing and other tasks as necessary.
*Provide oversight for medication monitoring and logbook documentation.
*Direct supervision of Residence Counselors, including scheduling, discipline, and performance evaluations.
*Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, including facilitating appropriate admissions and discharges, maintenance of census, documentation compliance, and incident reporting.
*Prepare programs for OMH re-certification site visits.
*Prepare 202/8 and 811 programs for HUD management reviews and REAC inspections and responsible for ongoing certification and recertification activities for residents.

POSTED April 29, 2008:  The City of Portland, OR is seeking a Homeless Program Manager, Bureau of Housing and Community Development.  The Homeless Program Manager at the Bureau of Housing and Community Development (BHCD) oversees the Bureau's efforts to advance the objectives of Home Again:  the City's and County's Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness.  This position manages the Bureau's Homeless Program Team (currently six FTE), which administers and develops resources, promulgates policy, and manages initiatives and contracts with community agencies to deliver programs that provide shelter, rent assistance, temporary housing and services targeted to ending the homelessness of Portland's homeless residents.   The Homeless Program Manager manages relationships with City Council and key partner agencies including community service providers, Multnomah County, the Portland Development Commission, the Housing Authority of Portland, local HUD Office and national counterparts and foundations working to end homelessness across the country.  This position also serves as part of BHCD's management team, which supports the Director to maintain a productive, healthy workplace environment; assists in developing and managing the Bureau's Homeless Program budget, which totals approximately $11 million annually from a variety of federal and local sources; manages contracts and complex planning activities under the supervision of the Senior Program Manager that help fulfill the Bureau's mission.  The full description may be found here

POSTED April 17, 2008:  Housing Options was founded in 1988. They provide affordable housing for more than 80 resident adults recovering from persistent and severe mental illnesses, over half of whom are formerly homeless and almost all of whom have low incomes.  It also provides mental health services which include a clinical treatment program so that each person it serves can live as independently as possible.  We seek an inspirational leader with a broad range of skills who will be comfortable leading a multi-faceted organization. The candidate, who as Executive Director reports to the board of directors, will have experience as a non profit or business executive, which includes the management of staff, financial planning and budgets. POSTED April 17, 2008:  The Chinatown Community Development Center is seeking a Tenant Services Coordinator.  The Tenant Services Coordinator provides support to a diverse group of residents, mainly family & youth, living in affordable housing sites. The Chinatown Community Development Center (CCDC), a community-based, non-profit organization founded in 1977, is dedicated to improving San Francisco’s Chinatown by addressing issues such as tenant rights, affordable housing, neighborhood, land use and transportation planning, open space, seismic safety, and lead hazard reduction/education. Our housing and management division seek to provide well-managed, affordable housing for San Francisco residents.  Our organization is based in Chinatown, but also serves the Tenderloin and North Beach communities. We have had a role in the development of over 2,000 units of affordable housing and currently manage over 1200 units in 19 properties, serving diverse ethnic, racial, and age constituencies.

POSTED April 1, 2008:  (reposted position) Episcopal Community Services (ECS) is looking for a licensed clinician to assist in the development of our mental health expertise and programming for formerly homeless adults and families in permanent supportive housing in San Francisco.  Ideally, the candidate would possess very strong administrative as well as clinical skills.  Duties would include the following:  developing comprehensive programming, reporting and documentation, and training staff.  A background working with individuals with special needs including mental illness and substance use is a MUST.  For the full description, click hereNEWLY POSTED:  ECS is also seeking a a Director of Shelters (click the link for the description) to provide leadership, direction and support to all programmatic, administrative, fiscal and regulatory functions at ECS’s Sanctuary and Next Door Shelters, serving up to 480 men and women twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.  During the winter months, a third roving site is open, sheltering another 60-100 homeless adults each night.  With a department budget of over $5.5 million and a staff of approximately 90 FTE positions, the Director of Shelters ensures the provision of safe and clean accommodations, nutritious meals and client-centered services, administered effectively and consistently with ECS’s mission, values and goals and in accord with public and private funding requirements.
