8th Annual Supportive Housing Conference:  The following materials were used during the December 1, 2006 New Jersey conference. 

What is HMIS?  Mining the HMIS Data Chest.  Presented by Abram Hillson, NJHMFA & Paul Rossi, Foothold Technology.  HMIS implementations can encompass geographic areas ranging from a single county to an entire state. An HMIS knits together homeless assistance providers within a community and creates a more coordinated and effective housing and service delivery system.

Working with Homeless Veterans.  Presented by Susan Visser, LSW, Community Hope, Inc., and the Hope for Veterans Transitional Housing Program. 

The Evolution from Services to Housing Development and Property Management, presented by Alternatives Inc. and ADTI Housing Corporation. 

Making Your Case: How to Be an Effective Advocate, presented by Marie Verna, Director of Advocacy, Mental Health Association in New Jersey.  Objectives:  Understand advocacy as an opportunity on many levels; learn to recognize the attitudes, skills and knowledge necessary to advocate for oneself; and begin to understand how systems advocacy occurs and what your role might be.
