CT Supportive Housing Quality Assurance Program

CSH is dedicated to supporting quality assurance efforts in the state of Connecticut.

Developed through a collaborative process between the State of CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Department of Social Services and supportive housing providers from across the state, the Quality Assurance Program has been in place since 2007.  The goals of the  program are to:

  1. Help ensure better outcomes for supportive housing tenants, especially those with multiple barriers to housing stability;
  2. Build the capacity of the supportive housing industry to create and operate high quality, effective and sustainable supportive housing units; and
  3. Help ensure that existing resources for supportive housing are being used efficiently and effectively and to support the allocation of new resources.

The delivery of effective and responsive services is an integral component of high quality supportive housing. These services are unique, compared to other service programs, in that they are (1) focused on housing stability, and (2) are not a condition of tenancy. Because services are voluntary, staff must focus more of their work on engaging tenants, and providing services and activities that are seen as helpful.

The sample forms and tools listed below can help to organize your supportive housing program documentation systems, as well as to assist with gathering the needed information at the very start of your engagement with and selection of new tenants.
