In the November 2004 election, California voters approved Proposition 63, the Mental Health Services Act ("MHSA" or the "Act"). MHSA was intended to transform the mental health system in California. The Act provides a dedicated source of funds to reduce the long term impacts of untreated serious mental illness and to expand successful, innovative, service programs for people with serious mental illness.
TNDC and partners San Francisco Department of Public Health and San Francisco Health Plan will expand SFDPH's highly successful Direct Access to Housing program by identifying, recruiting and providing housing and health care to homeless individuals who are high utilizers of crisis health services at the newly constructed Kelly Cullen Community supportive housing development scheduled to open in December 2012.
CSH is participating in a $50 million fund that finances the development of affordable housing and community services near transit in the San Francisco Bay Area.
